Bringing out the Best

Remembrance Day

On the 11th of November at 11am we held our minutes silence, to remember all the soldiers who have fought for our country and for those who are still fighting for our country today.

The fighting stopped on the 11th day of November at 11 o’clock in the morning 1918.
So at 11 o’clock on the 11th day of the 11th month of the year, we wear a poppy to think about the men and women who had been killed or injured during The Great War.

Because the poppy had grown on the battle fields of Western Europe where so many men had fought it
was adopted as a symbol. A symbol of hope, that those who had fought would be remembered by future
generations. They hoped that their sacrifice would not have been in vain.
They also hoped that if people remembered how bad the war was it might not happen again.
