Welcome to our weekly blog.
The children have settled in extremely well and have been busy learning the school routines and exploring the environment.
This week we are starting our topic “Marvellous Me”. Our key text this week is Elmer. During our story sessions we will discuss similarities and differences, look at characters and practice using our listening skills. One of keywords this week is ‘unique’. We will encourage children to use this word during circle time. At home you can help your child by using our keyword in a sentence.
During phonics we will be focusing on our listening skills and recapping phase 1. In Maths will be sorting and matching.
During our topic sessions we will look closely at colour and changes and we will paint a self portraits. In the provision we have opportunities to retell the story, colour mixing and designing our own Elmer.
As Forest School has started please ensure wellington boots are kept at school and that children bring in a warm coat.
Tapestry is updated daily. Please remember to upload any of your home learning to your Tapestry account.
