WORLD BOOK DAY

We will be celebrating World Book Day not just on one day but throughout the week beginning 27th February.

At Eyrescroft,  we are in our second year of the Open University’s Reading for Pleasure Project alongside other Elliot schools in the Eastern region.  Reading and celebrating the power of texts is at the heart of all of our teaching and this week will be another opportunity to further develop this,

We have planned activities focused around one book - The Barnabus Project -  which everyone in school will have a share.  Alongside this, children will have opportunities, as ever, to explore, read and share books.

To celebrate a love of reading, we’d like to invite everyone to bring in a favourite text to share with their class.  Don’t worry if you don’t have one yet as there will be lots of opportunities to listen to others’ recommendations and pore over books in the classroom and school library.

As part of the celebration, all children will receive a free £1 book token.  Look out for special titles in the shops. https://www.worldbookday.com/books/
