Are you interested in becoming a Community Councillor?

As you may be aware, The Elliot Foundation fulfils the role of our Governing Body however in order to develop all stakeholders communication with school we are looking to set up a Community Council. This will work similar to a Local Governing Body but without the legal responsibility.

The community Council will play a crucial role in our school by providing challenge but also positive support to the Executive Principal, Head of School and Senior Leadership on behalf of the children and community that the school serves. As an advisory body, they will focus on the ethos and values of the school; the effectiveness of the curriculum and wellbeing of the school community. They will know and celebrate the strengths of the community alongside holding the highest aspirations and expectations for our pupils.

The Community Council will be required to meet four times across the academic year; meeting twice in the Autumn term, once in the Spring term and once in the Summer term. There is an expectation that at least two of these meetings will be directly linked to visits by councillors during the school day, where possible. We need three parents to join our Community Council.

If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please contact the school office or you can usually find me on the KS1 school gate in the mornings. Meetings will generally be in the school day and it's an opportunity for you to help shape the future of Eyrescroft Primary School.

Thank you for your continued support.
