School Meals/Breaks

School Meal Facilities

Eyrescroft Primary School has its own kitchen and provides a choice of two main meals, one of which is vegetarian, and a selection of salads and fresh vegetables. The choice of dessert includes a hot pudding, fresh fruit, and a variety of cold desserts. Please advise the School Office of any specific dietary needs or allergens..

Friday is our 'Take Away' day and the children can enjoy their lunch in a take away style paper bag along with their drink and dessert.

Facilities are available for children to eat packed lunches and there is adult supervision. Parents are requested to send packed lunches in strong plastic containers labelled with the child's name. For drinks please use a watertight container. No fizzy drinks, thermos flasks or glass bottles please!

We are a Health Promoting School and recognise the importance of a healthy nutritious diet. For this reason we encourage parents not to provide chocolate bars and crisps in packed lunches but consider fresh fruit and yoghurt as a healthy alternative.  Free fruit is provided for all pupils in Key Stage 1.

Cost of School Meals

The costs are:

Key Stage 1: Funded by Universal Infant Free School Meals;
Key Stage 2: £2.30 per day (£11.50 per week).

Payment for all school meals must be made via ParentPay as we do not accept cash. We ask that all payments are made in advance, before lunch time on the day your child's lunch is served. Please see the School Office if you need any support with using ParentPay.

Free School Meals

Claim forms for free school meals must be completed and are obtainable from the School Office. The free school meal form should be returned to the School Office for internal processing to ensure your child receives their free school sweatshirt.

Home Lunch

If you wish your child to come home for lunch and you will be collecting them from school then please ask your child to inform their Teacher. However, in the interests of children's safety, if you wish your child to come home for lunch on their own, it is essential that you send a letter in to your child's Teacher. We cannot allow children off the school premises on their own without permission from their parents.

Break Time

Free fruit is provided for all pupils in Key Stage 1.                                                                                           We encourage Key Stage 2 children to bring a healthy snack; crisps and chocolate bars are strictly not allowed at break time.
