Highlees Primary School is at the heart of the community. We are dedicated to improving the life chances of all our children by unlocking their full potential. Our children are nurtured in a safe and secure environment where they can all grow into confident, resilient and responsible individuals, prepared for the next stage of their learning journey and for life in modern Britain.
We are committed to raising attainment in English and Maths, improving outcomes for ALL pupils by providing them with a range of high quality learning experiences through an inspiring, broad and engaging curriculum. We want our children to love coming to school, be active learners who are curious, enjoy and achieve in all aspects of their learning.
This year, both schools continue to focus on improving outcomes for children whilst ensuring they have access to a purposeful learning experience where acquisition of knowledge and skills are at the heart. We aim to achieve this by developing; the quality of learning in each classroom and leadership at all levels.
The focus on key skills in English and Maths are a priority as so many of our children have English as an additional language. The continued support from the Elliot Foundation Academy Trust and local partners are supporting both schools to improve standards and see an improvement in the published school data at the end of the year.
We work hard to involve families in all aspects of life within the school and are proud of our community work. We recognise our cultural diversity that makes up our school community, seeing it as a strength, which we celebrate at every opportunity.
We are ambitious for our children and our school; we have big ideas and set no limits on what our children can aspire to and achieve by ‘Bringing Out The Best’ in them all.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school and happy to answer any questions you have.
Mrs Jo Stroud
